18 months

nathaniel would be 18 months old today. the only other person who acknowledged this - who remembered it - is my 17 year old living son. i know that it's unreasonable to expect other people to remember something like this. but had he lived, 18 months is a huge milestone in development. without the milestone, there is something else, and i don't know what to call it.

what do you call these days?

  1. I call it his 18 month birthday. It's still an important milestone. What an adorable boy!

  2. 18 months really is huge. He would be walking and pointing and fussing. He would be cute and smiley and maybe dimply. He is beautiful. And I miss him with you.

  4. I call it sad. :/ At least that's what I was around that point. Love to you. He is just so gorgeous and at 18 months, I'm so sad he's not walking around causing you all kinds of trouble.

  7. I am coming up to that milestone too. I suppose I call it reality setting in... She is really gone, and I am missing out in so much.
Hugs friend. He is so beautiful.

  8. Oh Suzanne it is tragic, these should be milestones. He'd be a real handful with an ever growing vocabulary!

That is a riveting photo; so tender. Nathaniel is a gorgeous baby. He's absolutely perfect.

  9. He is so beautiful.

I too think I will be the only one remembering the milestones. Coming up on a year..., and recent 27's have passed around here without a peep. What do we call them? Markers? Milestones? Reminders of our heartbreak...of the horrible reality that one of our children died...?

I'm so sorry. I wish he was here with you. He is so perfect.
